About Old Ways
by Jeffrey Pierce
![]()
Old Ways came online in March 1997 and published more than 800 original articles, lessons, and videos between our debut and the date we went offline in early 2011. After spending most of the year getting Jeffrey Pierce's best selling writing career off the ground, we returned to the Web on December 22, 2011 to continue providing the best free instruction and insight into mystical spirituality that we're able to offer.
In addition to being a best selling author, Jeffrey Pierce is an exhibit photographer and a traditionally trained shaman. It's a combination of talents and insight that has benefitted the readers of Old Ways for more than 15 years. Having devoted himself to his spiritual path on March 21, 1987, he continues to push his own boundaries and limitations in search of new insights and material to share with you. His wife, Briana, a third generation herbalist, Reiki practitioner, and skilled writer in her own right, joined Old Ways in 2008. Together they share their paths, their lives, and their answers to the challenges before them freely with you.
We've divided Old Ways into four key areas: Mind, Body, Spirit, and Hearth. Mind focuses on philosophy, mental tools for your path, and offering new perspective on important topics. Body is intended to nurture and develop your physical body in much the same way that our paths strengthen our spirit. Spirit addresses the mystical side of reality, from the divine to magickal techniques. Hearth is about home and heart - things to brighten your day, ease your efforts, and tips to make your days happier and healthier.
Our goal is to present the insight here at Old Ways in such a way that it will challenge your perspective and push your boundaries while respecting your chosen path. We don't champion any particular path other than diversity and respect. You may not agree with or connect to every concept that is shared here, but it the material should still be compelling and its presentation respectful.
