Manifesting Reality

I don't play piano. While the video below may not make you suddenly say, "Wow! He's a concert pianist!" keep in mind that this was actually composed and performed in the space of 30 minutes by someone who honestly didn't have a clue what he was doing, let alone how to play piano. Yes, the video says, "Over the course of the next week...," but it was honestly done in thirty minutes. No, it's not deception. In all honesty, I surprised myself with how quickly the whole process went.
Full disclosure, when I was in junior high (1982) I took a single quarter of a keyboarding class. Since then? Nothing. I don't even remember how to read music anymore. We have a piano in our home, it was a gift for Bri (it was found free on Craigslist) and while I've pushed on the keys a couple of times, I've barely touched the instrument.
learning to play piano is one thing you can manifest
So today I sat down to write a song that I could play on the piano and sing for my wife, Bri. What makes this whole process noteworthy isn't that I could suddenly play piano. It's that everything that's demonstrated in this video was accomplished by applying mystical spirituality techniques.
One of our fundamental concepts that we work with is that spiritual reality and physical reality mirror each other. That means that the philosophy and techniques with which we approach spiritual reality should also apply to physical endeavors.
When I approached the piano, instead of trying to work out how it worked, I looked at it as a shaman would look at any other challenge before him.
What is the relationship between the keys? What creates balance? Where is the energy flowing? What is the piano trying to say?
I discovered chords, not by looking in a book and saying, "Okay, that's a chord... my fingers go here... press like this... voila!" Chords were uncovered by the simple concept that mystical occurrences happen on three levels simultaneously. Every moment has at least three reasons why it's unfolding. The easiest way to consider this is that it involves 1) your journey/growth, 2) the other person's journey/growth, and 3) something that you don't always see until you look at the event in the rearview mirror. If the piano, much like spiritual reality, was going to speak and I was going to fully listen to it, I had to allow each of those three things to come through.
So, I spaced my fingers on the keys with one blank key in between each of my fingers.
And folks, we have a chord.
We work within the flow of the moment we're in, so I assumed that my right hand (which would be playing the melody) should play notes that were represented when the chord was being played. This is very similar to the Zen parable of a reed bending in the wind. Flexibility is strength. Letting my right hand and left hand work together would create harmony.
Which seemed to work pretty well.
The rest was simply learning to listen to the piano and letting it speak in much the same way that a shaman listens to the world around them. Think of it is opening up your intuition wide enough that it becomes an additional sense. I can't think of another way to explain it other than simply saying, "You can feel where the music wants to go." It's the exact same process we use for intuitive readings or to open our intuition up to follow or read the world around us. Only this time it was applied to the piano.
Can I play piano? No, I'm not a pianist. Can I listen to the instrument as a shaman? Yes, I can. The above video is what happens when that occurs.
We use the word, "Can't," way too frequently in our culture. I can't do this. I can't write a song. I can't play piano. To which I reply, "Why are you telling yourself it's impossible for you to do that?" Because that's what can't means. Impossible. Anything is possible. We manifest our own reality all the time. It's time we started doing so intentionally.
So I played the song for Bri when she came home for lunch. She got the lyrics as well, so I not only wrote a song and played piano today, but I sang along with it too. (Sorry - the lyrics and singing are for Bri's ears only). Not having a clue at breakfast, singer song-writer by lunch.
Just imagine what you can manifest in your own world.
