Jeffrey Pierce is a best-selling author, exhibited photographer, and traditionally trained shaman. On March 21, 1987, he embarked on a quest to see beyond the veil of religion and find the divine for himself. The quest led through nearly every major religion on Earth and countless regional indigenous systems of belief. He taught classes and workshops, preached in churches, led covens, and studied under an amazing line of teachers including a Native American shaman and an old Roma crone.

He began teaching spirituality in 1992 and founded Old Ways in March 1997. Unlike many spiritual teachers, he is opposed to accepting payment for instruction, which is one of the key reasons why Old Ways is offered completely free of charge. Jeffrey is fond of saying, “If you’d like to give something back, tell a friend about the site or share an article link on Facebook.”

In addition to the work he does with Old Ways, Jeffrey is a husband and father, relishing the time that he spends with his family. An avid backpacker and outdoorsman, he spends a great deal of time in the mountains, forests, and along the beaches in his native Pacific Northwest. To unwind, he prefers to curl up with an Xbox controller or play online games with his friends.

Jeffrey can be reached via email at jeffrey@oldways.com. His novels and a selection of his photography can be found at his personal Web site, Virtual Coffee.
