On June 21, Briana and I celebrated our reunion in this incarnation in front of gathered friends and family underneath a huge walnut tree. We're headed off toward the American Southwest, pointing our car toward Sedona, Arizona and having no idea if we'll end up there or somewhere in between. Both Bri and I feel a calling to go in that direction. So, without a shred of expectation, we're off on a grand adventure.

For those of you who have read Old Ways for awhile, you'll realize this isn't the first time that I've felt a calling. The Through the Lens area of the site is filled with such tales. There was the journey to bury the fossilized dog bone. The call to the Oregon Coast in the middle of the night. Finding myself on a lonely stretch of Washington coastline to perform a funeral for a grove of clearcut awakened trees.
