Choose a common animal, whether its a bird, an ant, or even your pet. Spend a hour trying to see the world from its perspective.
For instance, if you choose an ant, lay on your stomach with your eyes close to the ground. Try seeing the world as an ant would see it? What is the ground like at that level? Is the perspective on the world different? How do you think you would approach the world if you were that small?
Once you've finished observing, sit back and consider your own place in the world. Looking at your personal environment in the same way that you looked at the animal's, do you find things you've never noticed? Where does your life and that of the animal's overlap? How are they similar? How are they different? In what ways do you rely on each other?
