The fir is the tree of life and magick. Even in the depths of winter, Fir is green, reminding us that we never truly die, that life continues on in one form or another. This knowledge is a rich power which can be used in any magical undertaking.
Most of my experience comes from working with the Douglas Fir. A very magickal tree that soaks up everything around it and holds the wisdom of the forest. In stands of old growth, it is a living library of everything that has gone on around it in the forest. Through the proper techniques, you can easily connect with the wisdom if the tree choses to share it with you.
Fir is a fragrant wood, especially suited for creating altars, libation dishes, and any object which ritual life revolves around.
