In the Works

I'm planning on selling my photographs through Old Ways for a very reasonable price. Details will be shared through the site and through Magickal Correspondences.

About the Photographs

All of the photographs were taken by me or, when I'm in the picture, through my camera. I'm an exhibited photographer and I plan on offering printed photographs through the site at a minimal price to help cover the costs involved in creating Old Ways.

The following photographs appear at the top of many of the pages throughout the Old Ways site.

Ozette Undisclosed Sea Cave (Oregon)
photographed September 10, 2006
Hidden on the Oregon Coast, this sea cave is one of the more majestic places that I've been blessed to do ritual work. I've taught classes in the cave itself and have done a small amount of ritual work here on my own. A photograph of the cave appears on the front page of the Old Ways site as well as on a handful of other pages.

Ozette Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary (Washington)
photographed September 10, 2006
Roughly ten days after the solo trek that featured the Funeral for the Trees I took the kids and our dear friend Kathryn on an overnight backpacking trip to the same area. With gorgeous blue skies above us, we hiked down the coast, climbed a headland, forded a river (all at the kids' request) before breaking camp and hiking out of the site. One of the photos found its way to the top of the About Old Ways page.
Mountain Road Mountain Road (Oregon)
photographed October 22, 2007
This mountain road, winding its way through the Nestucca River Valley in Oregon's Coast Range Mountains, leads to a lonely cliff where I undertook my first vision quest. I went to two sites this day to photograph them for Old Ways, the Nestucca River and the first sacred site that I worked with, an old quarry nestled in another part of the Coast Range. This photograph serves as the header for the Pathwork section of the site.

photographed June 14, 2006
I took four of my closest pagan friends to the Oregon Coast to experience the energy of an absolutely amazing sea cave that I've adopted as a sacred site. All of us had amazing experiences that day - including watching the surf break around certain members of the party rather than soaking them. The photograph appears at the top of the Contact Jeffrey page. In the photo I'm thanking the spirits for the gift of the day.
Oregon Coast Range Coast Range Mountains (Oregon)
photographed November 25, 2006
When I began my shamanic studies with Nukah, one of the first things she taught me was how to adopt a sacred site to use for study and ritual work. I was almost immediately drawn to the Coast Range Mountains inland of Pacific City, Oregon. My vision quest took place around this time of year and I can still remember the thick walls of fog that surrounded my campsite. The photo heads the Articles page.
Mt. Jefferson Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area (Oregon)
photographed July 8, 2006
The Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area is watched over by its namesake peak. Bear and I went backpacking with a good pagan friend of mine and his son. Our nights were illuminated by an almost-full moon and I said my morning prayers knee-deep in a shallow mountain lake, surrounded by streamers of mist that caught the colors of the sunrise. The photograph appears at the top of the Features page.
Ozette Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary (Washington)
photographed August 29, 2007
This photograph was taken on my third trek to the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary. The location is one of my favorite sacred sites and I've had amazing experiences on every journey that I've taken there. This photograph appears at the top of the Through the Lens page.

Redwoods Redwood National Forest (California)
photographed August 28, 2006
Each year our family makes a trip to the Simpson-Reed Grove of the California Redwoods. The trees are as old as they are unbelievably enormous, the combination creating a rich energetic environment that is so deep that our family refers to it as "spiritual cheesecake." This photo, which appears as the header on the All Around Us page, was taken in a stream in the middle of the grove.

Ozette Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary (Washington)
photographed August 28, 2006
The photo of the heron was taken at twilight during my third backpacking trek in the Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary, the same place location featured in A Funeral for the Trees and Tales from the Beach. The photograph appears as the header for the Special Feature on Sacred Sites.

The kids and I were camping at the Ohanapecosh Campground and I woke up early and went on a hike shortly after sunrise. (Sparrow and Bear both elected to stay curled up in their sleeping bags.) It was a beautiful morning, just me and the spirits of the trees and the Ohanapecosh River. Even the sunlight chose to cooperated and posed for the photograph at the top of the page for my blog.
Mt. Rainier National Forest Pacific Ocean (Oregon)
photographed July 31, 2007
Years ago, when Kathryn and I were dating, she took this photo of me on the Oregon Coast. I'm actually doing a form of shamanic journeying in this photograph, allowing a stone that I had found on the beach to pull my spirit out into the water. A day after this photo was taken, I entered my favorite sea cave for the very first time. This photograph appears at the top of the Learning page and on its sub-pages.
